Larry Weaver is an American keynote speaker and comedian who delivers presentations on motivation, stress management, and workplace performance. His background in stand-up comedy, including appearances on Comedy Central, Dry Bar Comedy, and SiriusXM, informs a speaking style that uses humor to engage audiences and reinforce key ideas. He has shared the stage with performers such as Faith Hill, Nate Bargatze, and Weird Al Yankovic, and his keynote clients include organizations such as Michelin, 3M, D.R. Horton, UPS, and Procter & Gamble.
Larry Weaver grew up in rural North Carolina, where hard work, humility, and strong values were simply part of everyday life. His dad drove a truck, and his mom spent her career in school nutrition. From an early age, he watched people serve others and take pride in doing things the right way.
Summers were often spent picking tobacco and produce on family farms. Some of his first experiences in front of an audience came in church, where he sang and played guitar alongside his dad.
In school, Larry had more energy than direction and channeled it into making people laugh. Along the way, teachers and staff saw something more, helped him believe in himself, and redirected that energy toward higher education and a lifelong commitment to learning and growth.
A small scholarship from a Gold Star family helped Larry attend The University of North Carolina. Years later, he established his own scholarship, honoring the kindness of those strangers who invested in him.
He began studying accounting and even entered a graduate program before realizing his path was leading somewhere else.
A friend’s encouragement led him to try stand-up comedy. What started as a challenge became a career built through years of resilience and learning how to read a room and engage each audience.
While building his comedy career, Larry worked part-time with the Family and Children’s Resource Program at the UNC School of Social Work. There, he gained exposure to professionals whose work centered on helping others, often in difficult and demanding situations. That experience shaped his belief in living and working with purpose.
Over time, his down-home humor and quick wit led to larger stages and broader opportunities. He shared the stage with performers such as Faith Hill, Nate Bargatze, and Weird Al Yankovic, and has been featured on Comedy Central, Dry Bar Comedy, and SiriusXM.
As his career evolved, so did his focus. When a client’s keynote speaker canceled with short notice, Larry stepped in. The same skills that worked on the comedy stage—timing, connection, and reading a room—translated naturally into a conference setting, where audiences were looking for more than just entertainment.
He has since delivered keynote presentations in all 50 states for non-profits and corporate clients alike such as Michelin, United States Postal Service, UPS, D.R. Horton, GSK, and T-Mobile. His presentations consistently earn high marks from clients, with hundreds of five-star reviews.
Personal experiences, including helping care for aging parents, have shaped his perspective on health, energy, and attitude, and the importance of taking care of yourself while continuing to meet the demands of work and life.
Today, Larry brings those experiences together in his presentations. His background in accounting gives him a practical, grounded perspective. His years in comedy allow him to engage audiences in a way that feels natural and unscripted. And his life experience gives him a deep appreciation for people whose work often centers on serving others.
He focuses on delivering humorous and heartfelt messages that resonate with audiences who take pride in their work, carry responsibility, and don’t always seek recognition—but value being seen, understood, and appreciated.
